The popular series How I Met Your Mother have John Radnor, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders dressed in kimonos and other Asian garments to create a comedic spin on the popular stereotype: Kung-fu or martial arts. The actors talked with through a stereotypical Asian accent and reinforced some Asian stereotypes throughout the episode.

During the airing of this episode, a hashtag #HowIMetYourRacism became a trending topic. It is important that stereotypes are not reinforced because people can easily associate, either implicitly or explicitly, these perceptions with their everyday interactions.
